First impressions: a charmingly intimate space with modern steel braided chairs on the front porch and a welcoming smiley staff. Stepping inside, the atmosphere is warm, with an elegant contemporary design.

The restaurant is small but perfectly curated, with attention to detail in every corner. I was escorted to the second floor, where the design takes on a fresh, minimalist twist —highlighted by a floating egg lamp that steals the show.

The staff’s warmth makes you feel like an old friend, while the space itself feels both modern and inviting.
To start, I tried the pickled eggplant with wafu dressing. The texture was unique—silky yet firm, but the taste? Subtle. Wafu dressing, a Japanese-inspired vinaigrette, is a delicate blend of soy sauce, vinegar, and sesame oil. It’s light yet full of umami, though I longed for a bit more boldness in the dish.

A cross-section of the soft, creamy interior of the eggplant ireveals its rich, velvety texture and inviting seeds.

Next, the Kingfish with takuan taro sauce. The creamy sauce with shiitake, watercress, shallots, and coriander leaves balanced perfectly with the fresh fish. Takuan taro—a Japanese fermented radish—added an unexpected bite, that elevated the dish. Steamed rice with sesame seeds and seaweed was a simple but exquisite side. Comforting, yet refined.

For dessert, I indulged in the chocolate souffle paired with sesame ice cream. The souffle was nothing short of a dream—rich, decadent, and made with high-quality, high-percentage chocolate that melted in your mouth. The sesame ice cream was a perfect complement, offering a unique twist. It had the creamy, comforting texture of vanilla ice cream but with a subtler sweetness, its nutty flavor balancing the intense richness of the chocolate beautifully. A delightful end to a memorable meal!

The menu? A culinary journey in itself. Every dish speaks of a creator who genuinely loves food, with options that make you wish for multiple meals in a day.

The vibe here is a mix of cool design and laid-back charm. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to revisit.
